Radio Hamburg and the myth of the water tower

Solchen Menschen, die ihren – mitunter auch sehr kümmerlichen – Geist auf eine einzige Bahn zwingen, begegnet man auch im 21. Jahrhundert noch zuhauf. Man muss kein Marxist sein, um Andersdenkende zu denunzieren und vernichten zu wollen sowie ihre Motive in ehrenrühriger Weise infrage zu stellen. Menschen mit einem furchtbaren Willen zur Macht sowie dem Willen, recht zu behalten und allein recht zu behalten, finden sich auch heute in der Politik, an Stammtischen, in Medienredaktionen sowie in Kleingartenvereinen. Sie alle eint ein Hang zur Borniertheit. Bei den wenigsten jedoch ist diese Eigenschaft gepaart mit einem hellen Verstand wie zweifellos bei Marx.

Meist sind es wohl eher Bequemlichkeit, Eitelkeit, Selbstsucht, Ruhmsucht und – ja, geistige Trägheit, die zu solchem Schwarz-Weiß-Denken führen, zur Unfähigkeit, von einmal bezogenen Positionen auch nur einen Millimeter abzurücken. Man konstruiert sich ein paar Feindbilder und kann fortan in der geistigen Hängematte baumeln. Gefährlich wird es, wenn solch rechthaberischer Kleingeist Einfluss gewinnt auf die Öffentlichkeit, auf Meinungsbildung und auf Politik. Wahrlich, mit einer derartigen Einstellung kann man die Welt schwerlich besser machen. Aber das ist wohl auch nicht unbedingt das Streben solch intransigenter Menschen.

Man sieht, auch in dieser eher menschlichen Hinsicht ist Marx aktueller denn je.

Why is Julia balances that question, if they - did not deny the existence of child soldiers in Eritrea - according to Peter Disch? Wenn es Julia Salden zudem doch gar nicht um Eritrea, sondern nur um eine Schule gehe, warum fragt sie dann nicht: „Hat es das an der Tsebah-Schule wirklich gegeben?” Diese Frage stellt Julia Salden womöglich deshalb nicht, weil es in dem Film überhaupt nicht um die Tsebah-Schule geht.

I t is remarkable with what gross overconfidence and complacency can be raised with the NDR-media magazine Zapp weekly about the media environment. But who poses as a pedantic guardians of political correctness, should at least do not offer themselves to attack.

Das Schlagwort ex septentrione lux (aus dem Norden [kommt] das Licht) geht ursprünglich auf das Eingreifen Gustav Adolfs in den Dreißigjährigen Krieg und die somit erfolgte Rettung der protestantischen Sache zurück. Wieder aufgenommen wurde der Ausspruch während der Völkerschlacht im Jahr 1813, als die Schweden dem Bund gegen Napoleon beitraten (so zB in einer Gedichtzeile Theodor Körners: Hell aus dem Norden bricht der Freiheit Licht). Erst später wurde das Schlagwort in national gesinnten Kreisen nord-, ost- und mitteleuropäischer Länder als gezielte Infragestellung der bis dahin vorherrschenden These ex oriente lux benutzt. Der Meinung dieser Anhänger völkischen Denkens zufolge habe der Ursprung aller Kultur in Nordeuropa und Germanien gelegen und sich dann nach Süden hin ausgebreitet. Trotz intensiver Anstrengungen vor allem in den 1920er Jahren gelang es völkischen Forschern nie, überzeugende Beweise für diese archäologisch unhaltbare Theorie zu finden. Vetreterin dieser „Ariosophie” war ua die berüchtigte Thule-Gesellschaft . Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg sind sowohl Nachdrucke entsprechender älterer Arbeiten, besonders aus der Zeit des „Dritten Reiches”, als auch neuere Arbeiten in erster Linie in Verlagen aus dem rechtsextremen Spektrum erschienen. In ihnen wird die angeblich kulturbringende Sendung „nordischer” bzw. „germanischer” Völker bereits in der Ur- und Frühgeschichte gegenüber den antiken Hochkulturen (beispielsweise der Griechen, Philister, Phönizier und Ägypter) betont und damit deren Überlegenheit bzw. die Abstammung von ersteren. Zu den bekanntesten Verfechtern von Ex septentrione lux wird Jürgen Spanuth gezählt, der 1953 in seiner Veröffentlichung Das enträtselte Atlantis das untergegangene Atlantis in der Nordsee lokalisierte und eine bronzezeitliche Einwanderung nordeuropäischer Völker in den Mittelmeerraum postulierte. Als früher Vertreter des Nordismuswird hier der Schwede Olof Rudbeck d.Ä. (1630-1702) beansprucht, der Atlantis in Uppsala platziert hatte. [ ← ]
